Interactivos?'17: Re-imagining movement in the city
C.O.S.O, a project by Pablo Fernandez Vallejo has been selected for the prototyping workshop to be held in Madrid
This year's edition of Interactivos? tackles the theme of mobility in the city on the intersection of three perspectives: citizen science, environmental sustainability and art and design with digital tools. 8 projects have been selected to be developed by collaborators and enthusiasts over the course of 2 weeks in the inspiring MediaLab Prado in the heart of Madrid.
Among those projects is C.O.S.O. (Connected Outside Surface Observer) a module that allows cyclists to collect information about the state of the streets as they ride on them. The goal of this project is to explore the possibilities of citizen-generated data to inform local governments on the state of urban infrastructure. An approach such as this one can be especially relevant to populous yet under-funded growing metropolises wanting to promote sustainable mobility options.
